Beyond the Sea Swimwear is the creation of local designer and patternmaker Kylie van Wanrooy. Inspired by the glamour of 1940’s and 50’s when an hourglass or curvy figure was embraced the flattering and fun range of Australian Made swimwear with a vintage twist is designed for the average Australian woman. The styles this season have a vintage feel, with new prints and colours. There are nautical stripes, spots, tropicana and Japanese prints and even some lace for a touch of glamour. The quality of the fabric and make, and the fact that they are fully lined give the swimwear a timeless appeal beyond this season. Kylie aims to cater for her customers needs and has refined her styles, now in their second season, focusing on sizing and bust support. Statistics show that the average Australian woman is a size 14-16. We have made this the middle of our size range. This year, our sizing starts at size 12 and goes up to size 20 (style dependant). We have used a size 12 model and our images are not photoshopped. It’s swimwear for real women who want to look good and feel comfortable wearing swimwear whatever their size. The range will be available from September. The photoshoot for this range took place at Oatley Park, with the talented local photographer Lily Zdilar and model Foxtrot India (Fiona Hamilton). |
